The winning strategies are a set of six simple, effective and easy-to-implement ways to improve access to French-language services. This project is primarily for Ontario <\/span><strong>non-designated organizations.<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The winning strategies are recommendations; they are not mandatory. These measures must be implemented by organizations designated under the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">French Language Services Act<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus, designated organizations are responsible for ensuring an active offer from the very first contact with clients, and without them needing to request it. All existing contractual obligations with your funders regarding French-language services remain in effect.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The winning strategies provide a set of essential actions for identifying, matching or referring your French-speaking clients, but they do not meet all the requirements of the designation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the winning strategies are a starting point for any organization wishing to improve the quality of its services to Francophones. Do we have to implement the winning strategies?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-67911\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"11\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-67911\"><p><b>The implementation of the winning strategies is voluntary. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the strategies have been specially developed to support organizations that offer little or no French-language services and are located in a territory designated under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/statute\/90f32\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">French Language Services Act<\/span> <i class=\"fa fa-external-link\"><\/i><\/i><\/a>.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When I\u2019m sick, I\u2019m not bilingual. This expression reflects the vulnerability of a person who needs care, but receives it or has to express themselves in a language other than their mother tongue.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a linguistic minority, Francophones are often reluctant to request services in French for fear that this will affect the quality of their care, wait time or accessibility to all treatment options.
