Initially called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Linguistic Protocol<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the project was aiming at systematically offering patients the option of receiving services in French, from the outset. This was a recommendation from the report <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kidscomefirst.ca\/en\/kids-come-first\/portrait-of-health-service-needs-for-francophone-children-and-youth-and-their-families.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Portrait of Health Service Needs for Francophone Children and Youth and Their Families<\/span><\/span> <i class=\"fa fa-external-link\"><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is a model of collaboration and engagement, bringing together all service-providing organizations around a set of actions that promote active offer. And these actions constitute what we now call \u201cwinning strategies\u201d.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The needs study revealed the importance of French-language services for young Francophones. These young people said that these services enabled them to express themselves more clearly, to feel understood and to have greater confidence in support and health services. And their parents said that obtaining services in French is critical to family and children\u2019s understanding and communication of needs.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d91398f elementor-widget elementor-widget-accordion\" data-id=\"d91398f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"accordion.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div tabindex=\"0\">Recommendations and strategies<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2271\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"1\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2271\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The strategies were developed in response to several of the report\u2019s recommendations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Prioritize<\/strong> the provision of a continuum of services in French.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Develop<\/strong> the ability to refer clients to services offered in French.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Develop<\/strong> a regional strategy to implement best practices rooted in the principles of active offer of health services in French.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Include <\/strong>care and service providers who offer all or most of their services in
