Promote organizational awareness of the value of actively offering French-language health services

This strategy aims at promoting safe and quality person-centred care by bringing your staff to understand the importance of their role in the active offer of French-language services.

Here’s how the different groups in your organization can implement this strategy.

Complete modules 1-3 and/or the complementary module specific to the care sector of the online training program The Active Offer of French Language Health Services: Why it matters and How to Put It Into Practice.

This training is aimed at all staff members, volunteers and physicians working directly with clients. It was developed by the Réseau du mieux-être francophone du Nord de l’Ontario.

  • Free online training offered in English and French.
  • Three modules taking approximately 3 hours to complete at your own pace.
  • Three additional modules for managers.
  • Complementary modules for different healthcare sectors (Mental Health and Addictions, Primary Care, Immigration, Long-Term Care).
  • Certificate awarded upon the successful completion of the program.
  • Professionals and leaders can earn professional development credits (Canadian College of Health Leaders, College of Family Physicians of Canada and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada).

1. Complete the 6 modules and/or the complementary module specific to the care sector of the online training program The Active Offer of French Language Health Services: Why it matters and How to Put It Into Practice.

2. Ensure that all members of your team complete modules 1 to 3 and/or the additional care sector-specific module of the active offer training.

3. Develop a policy and procedures that support best practices in promoting staff awareness of the value of the active offer of French-language services.

4. Ensure your staff is aware of the policy by including it in your organization’s Employee Handbook, as well as in the employee orientation.

5. Define and monitor performance indicators for staff training on the active offer.

6. Report on these performance indicators to your governance.
